Ever since I heard “Thinking about Forever” at the end of Episode 7 of ABG (check out the entire Web Series, it’s fruckin’ awesome), i have been HOOKED…but on Frank Ocean‘s version. He wrote the song, and has apparently passed it on to Bridget Kelly, Super Crooner from Roc Nation.
Now I love BK, her vocal range is fantastic…and i enjoy this acoustic version, but not better than Frank Ocean’s version. Nonetheless, check out her vocals in the video and let us know what you think!
This new Feist track goes SO hard. She released it on Friday. Can’t stop playing it. Word on the block is that she is revving up for her next album release.
On Wednesday night, Lianne La havas (popularly know for her Black Cab Sessions performance that we mentioned here), performed here in NYC in a nice intimate setting at the Living Room, where she sent the crowd into rhythmic Bliss with her stellar vocals (Will release some snippets from the performance later this week!).
Rhythm Junkie chatted with her about what’s next, as she was excited and anxious to perform, coming from a marathon of songwriting. She mentioned that she felt so inspired artistically by NYC, and that the whole experience has really opened doors for the Songstress on the rise.
We hear that she may have made that shift from ‘Indie’ to ‘Signed artist,’ but we’ll wait for confirmation and details *wink*. Either way, between her lyrcis that speak to raw emotions expressed unique to Havas’ style, Her quirky yet mature & stellar vocals, and her eye opening stage presence, there is no doubt that you will be hearing her name on the regular in Music Land.
Here is a photo of her new guitar (photo courtesy of her manager) that she mentioned she was “consummating with” during her performance Wednesday Night (in an artistic manner, of course). She’s a delight to watch, and indeed an artist to be reckoned with.
It’s The Weekend! As a gift for making it through this heat, DJ Qeys brought that FIYAH for ya’ll to bop your heads to. A lot of Retro-Hip Hop sprinkled with What’s New, this was made with Hip Hop Hard Body in mind. Wu-Tang, Common, Kanye… just listen!
The goal was to make a mix that will get you through your Worrk Out in the weight room and get you hype en route to your weekend BBQ. Have Fun! Enjoy, Download, and pass it on to your homie if you really care about their listening pleasure!
Long time friend & collaborator, Prince Golden, has been on his grind for almost a decade now. From winning local battles to opening for artists such as Cage and Gucci Mane, the Ohio native has his eyes on the prize now more than ever.
After releasing his long awaited mixtape, I Got The Evidence, less than a year ago, Golden is already dropping his second mixtape. His second mixtape pays homage to one of the dopest producers in Hip Hop history, the late J Dilla. “Ever since I heard Dilla and Slum Village, I loved the way he sampled. Once I heard he released instrumental cd’s it inspired me to write …and now I just wanna keep his name and music alive.” The tribute entitled, ‘DIlla Still Illa,’ is set to be released later this month.

You know how it FEELS when you are going through a very specific situation… and then you click play and someone is singing your exact situation like they overheard your thoughts?!?!? Yeah, that happened when I stumbled upon U.K. crooner, Lianne La Havas singing for The Black Cab Sessions.
I’m Strung out by the way she finesses that guitar and how her voice dances along with the music. Saw this video of her, and everyone in my Twitter timeline started RTing her infectious performance. Check out the UK import.
Her flow is growing on me, her energy is on a hundred Thousand Trillion, and her Confidence made me a believer. Looking forward to what shes cooking up.
L.A of BK is bringing that youthful & raw flow with an informed delivery…in a feminine & fly package. Check her out!

When I first saw Tyler the Creator’s “Yonkers” video, I was instantly hooked.
Dark lyrics, hard and dark hip hop beat and dark, awesome video. I started researching the California based rapper and I was surprised when I found out not only does he have an album and plenty of mixtapes out, but he was only 18 at the time.
Tyler delivers genius lyrics and he also produces for himself and his wild
crew, OFWGKTA (Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All). I can honestly say that Odd Future is definitely 1 of my favorite modern day Hip Hop
groups. With all the BS that is being labeled as “Hip Hop” lately, it’s great to see a group of kids doing something different, being
themselves and making quality music.
